Rockfon, part of ROCKWOOL Group, is pleased to announce an average reduction of 22 percent in the GWP (Global Warming Potential) of 65 of its acoustic wall and ceiling product variants, with up to 40 percent for select products. The improvement is a result of upgraded technologies in a main production line across it's European factories.
The reductions are calculated across the GWP value of the product variants compared to a 2019 baseline. They consider the Product Stage module in a Cradle-to-Gate model and include the following lifecycle stages: raw material extraction (A1), transport to manufacturer (A2), and product manufacturing (A3).
"Emission reductions from our end trickle into reductions across our customers' constructions, and, ultimately, affect the industry as a whole. We don't take that role lightly," said Kasper Sánchez Vibæk, Head of Sustainability & Public Affairs at Rockfon. "Our efforts in environmental improvements across our manufacturing and supply chains don't slow down here, and we're working towards significant progress over the coming years."
