Indoor Climate Labels
All Rockfon products have low emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and support good indoor air quality.
What are Volatile Organic Compounds?
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are carbon-based compounds that easily evaporate at room temperature, in a process known as “off-gassing”. To ensure good indoor air quality and support positive health outcomes, it is important to limit the levels of VOCs in a building.
Rockfon products have very low emissions of VOCs
All Rockfon products are in the E1 class for formaldehyde emissions under the European standard for suspended ceilings (EN 13964). In addition, various Rockfon products align with demanding indoor climate labels like the French Indoor Air Quality label, the Danish Indoor Climate Label, the Finnish M1 Label, and the German Blue Angel label.
Understanding the different indoor climate labels
Indoor climate labels set limits for both formaldehyde and total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOCs), beyond which a product is not compliant. On data sheets for Rockfon products, the relevant indoor climate labels are displayed if the product aligns with the compliance levels required for this label.
VOCs in building schemes
All major building certification schemes emphasize the need for good indoor air quality, meaning low emissions of volatile organic compounds. Thanks to their very low emissions of both formaldehyde and total VOCs, Rockfon products are guaranteed to support your efforts to achieve certification.
