Wellbeing at its best for all the senses
In a 4-star resort on the outskirts of Hamburg, high standards had to be met for the acoustic ceilings. The Castanea Resort in Adendorf near Lüneburg offers, in addition to overnight accommodation and conference facilities, two large golf courses, an extensive wellness area and rooms for a wide variety of event formats.
Generous foyer with gold-colored individual areas
No compromises were made in the ceiling design for the new Castanea Forum conference center. The Rockfon® Mono® Acoustic system was used on 420 square meters. These included four individual areas on the ceilings, for which the client wanted a gold tone. This gold tone is supposed to be reminiscent of autumn-colored chestnut leaves - in the spacious Castanea resort, which got its name from the Latin word for chestnut. The color can be found at the entrance to the resort and in many other places in the building.
Seamless ceiling system
Rockfon® Mono® Acoustic is a completely seamless system that allows ceiling installations to be easily installed. The monolithic system consists of a rock wool panel 40 millimeters thick, filler material and elegant, fine acoustic plaster. This can basically be colored in any NCS color shade. The acoustic plaster is so open-pored that the absorption capacity of the rock wool panels underneath is fully retained. In this way, the desired gold tone could be achieved in the individual surfaces without reducing the high acoustic values (alpha value: 0.95, NRC value: 0.90).
A solution for every challenge
The ceiling installation in the overall project was full of challenges: height-offset levels, a construction with 25 inspection flaps, openings for ten lowerable projectors and 113 light cutouts had to be implemented, among other things.
Walter Gewiß from the dry construction company Klima-Schutz und Service GmbH from Weste near Lüneburg explains: “In cooperation with the field service, the technical advice regarding the construction and the acoustic effectiveness, we were able to convey to the client from the start that our The company can meet the high requirements with its expertise in connection with the products and the experience of the manufacturer of the ceiling systems."
And so it happened. In the large conference hall and the smaller conference rooms, the specialists integrated the Rockfon® Mono® Acoustic ceiling system flat into the ceiling panels. The connection to the walls was made by molded plasterboard parts with light coves. In recognition of the successful work, the drywall construction company received further orders from the client, for which Rockfon® Mono® Acoustic was also used.
