An office designed around what staff actually asked for

ROCKWOOL's own Poznań floor was shaped by an employee audit, and shows the full Rockfon range in one working space.

The ROCKWOOL GBS office in Poznań, where Rockfon solutions in different shapes, colours and textures shape a dynamic, acoustically comfortable workspace.

Start with the people who work there

When ROCKWOOL's shared services centre in Poznań fitted out its fourth floor, Comodo Group started by asking the staff. An audit gathered how employees felt about their existing space, and working groups pitched their own ideas for what the new floor should be.

"We conducted an audit among employees, who told us how they perceive their own offices. We also worked with groups who presented their ideas on boards. These were used to inspire the interiors," said Krzysztof Draber, interior architect at Comodo Group.

The result is a floor built around real working styles: semi-partitioned desks for 70 people, three individually designed meeting rooms, and dining and relaxation zones styled like casual cafés, with moss walls and hanging plants bringing nature inside.

Comfort for staff, and a live showroom

An open-plan office full of people talking, typing and taking calls builds up noise fast, and reverberation off hard surfaces makes it harder to concentrate. Keeping the floor acoustically comfortable was the first job.

But this office had a second job too. Because it belongs to ROCKWOOL, Rockfon's parent company, it also had to work as a live showroom, showing clients the full breadth of what stone wool acoustic products can do, across walls, ceilings and everything between, all in one real working space.

One floor, the whole range

Almost every type of Rockfon product appears somewhere on the floor, each chosen for the space it sits in.

In the corridors, Rockfon Lamella wooden slats in Light Oak and Smoked Oak add warmth and absorb sound. Rockfon Senses wall panels bring organic texture, and Rockfon Canva wall panels carry removable printed canvases showing ROCKWOOL's production sites around the world, from Ploiesti in Romania to Milton in Canada, turning acoustic panels into a way to tell the company's story.

In the meeting rooms, Rockfon Color-all ceiling tiles in Azure and Mint carry the wall colour up into the ceiling for a single, monochrome look.

In the dining and relaxation areas, Rockfon Eclipse islands in circle and triangle shapes stand out against black ceilings for an industrial feel.

Rockfon Canva floor screens split the space into flexible zones, and Rockfon Universal Baffles run alongside the moss strips.

Some pieces make a bold visual statement, others quietly blend in. Every one of them absorbs sound and brings down reverberation.
