Sound absorption is measured in accordance with ISO 354.
Sound absorption data αp, αw and absorption class are calculated in accordance with ISO 11654. Sound absorption properties of islands and baffles are quantified by the equivalent sound absorption area Aeq expressed as m² per item.

Reaction To Fire
A1
Reaction to fire is classified in accordance with EN 13501-1.
Light reflection and light diffusion
86% light reflection
>99% light diffusion
Light reflection expressed in % is measured in accordance with ISO 7724-2.
Visual Appearance
Super-white surface L value: 94.5. Deep matt surface, perfect in critical side-light Gloss: 0.8 gloss unit at 85° angle
The whiteness (L value) of the product is tested in accordance with ISO 7724 and measured on a scale from 1 (black) to 100 (white). The gloss of the product is tested in accordance with ISO 2813.
Humidity And Sag Resistance
Up to 100% RH. No visible deflection in high humidity.
ROCKFON ceiling tiles are dimensionally stable even at humidity levels of up to 100% relative humidity and can be installed at all temperatures ranging from 0°C to 40°C. They can be installed during the very early stage of the build (when windows are not fully sealed). Their lightweight yet stable non-hygroscopic character minimises the final weight of the fully-installed ceiling. ROCKFON ceiling tiles are predominantly classified as Class 1/C/0N in accordance with EN 13964. Certain module sizes (width above 700mm) are Class 2/C/0N.
Surface Durability
Enhanced durability and dirt resistance.
The surface of some ROCKFON products is specially treated to provide enhanced durability and dirt resistance.
Cleaning
Vacuum, Damp cloth, High pressure cleaning (monthly and only applicable for A-edge installation). Max. 80 bar, min. 1 meter distance, water spread at 30° angle, max. water flow 360 L/h. The tiles should be clipped into the grid., Chemical resistance: Tested according to ISO 2812-3:2019 and classified in accordance with EN 12720. Rating on a scale from 1 to 5, where 5 is the best. We obtained 5 for the following detergents and disinfectants (weekly disinfection): Active chlorine 2,6%, quaternary ammonium 0,25%, hydrogen peroxide 5%, Ethanol 70% and Isopropanol 70%, Use only soft equipment directly on the tile surface:
cloth or sponge. Avoid scraping or stiff brush rubbing.
Vacuum: The surface can be vacuum cleaned with a soft brush attachment. Damp cloth: The surface can be cleaned using a damp cloth or sponge with a slightly alkaline detergent (pH between 7 and 9) without alcohol, ammonia or chlorine. This may render the surface slightly shinier, so we recommend cleaning the entire surface evenly.
Disinfection
- Resistant to using Hydrogen Peroxide Vapor disinfection with impact on aeration time - Can withstand and will not be affected by UVC and Ozone disinfection
Hygiene
Stone wool provides no sustenance to microorganisms
Stone wool provides no sustenance to the following microorganisms tested in accordance with JIS Z 2801:2000 and ASTM C 1338-96: – Escherichia coli – Staphylococcus aureus – Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) – Stachybotrys chartarum – Penicillium brevicumpactum – Alternaria tenuissima – Aspergillus niger – Sporobolomyces roseum – Rhodotorula rubra Microbiological class M1 fulfilling the requirements of Zone 4 (very high risk) defined by NF S 90-351:2013. Tested with: - Methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) - Candida albicans - Aspergillus brasiliensis - E. Coli - Bacillus cereus M1 (zone 4) for the 5 tested pathogens.
The particle elimination kinetics class is conform to CP(0,5)5 according to the norm NF S 90-351:2013.
