Rockfon Mono Acoustic ceilings integrate seamlessly into the Porsche Center Fredrikstad showroom, enhancing acoustic comfort without compromising design clarity.

A monolithic car showroom expression

In Fredrikstad, Norway, Porsche’s new showroom was designed by Pilot Architects to deliver more than a space for sales. The goal was to create an inviting, high-end environment aligned with the Destination Porsche concept. To ensure acoustic quality without compromising on design, Rockfon Mono Acoustic was installed throughout. The seamless ceiling enhances comfort, clarity, and consistency across all customer zones.

A seamless blend of acoustics and brand Values

Designing a space for Porsche means precision at every level, from materials and surfaces to the overall customer journey. At Porsche Center Fredrikstad, Pilot Architects were tasked with creating an atmosphere that feels calm, open and aligned with the Destination Porsche global retail identity.

The design features large surfaces, warm natural finishes, and clean architectural lines. Offices, meeting rooms and customer areas are all integrated into one cohesive experience. Rockfon Mono Acoustic was chosen to support this intent, offering seamless acoustic control while maintaining the visual clarity the project required.

In high-ceiling spaces with hard materials, sound often becomes a challenge. Rockfon Mono Acoustic provides Class A sound absorption and helped reduce reverberation without disrupting the interior expression. Its seamless, white surface adds visual continuity while quietly improving speech intelligibility across zones.

Flexibility was also essential. The product’s ability to be installed flat or curved made it easy to incorporate lighting and ventilation while preserving the monolithic ceiling appearance. Its high light reflection and diffusion also help reduce the need for artificial lighting, supporting energy efficiency.

For the architects, good acoustics were part of creating a welcoming tone. “It should be possible to speak softly without the conversation getting lost in noise”, said architect Ullrich Mende. Customers and staff alike benefit from the improved sound environment, one that enhances focus, collaboration and comfort throughout the day.

The result is a showroom that meets both technical and emotional expectations. “Every detail was carefully considered,” said sales consultant Tommy Johansen. “When customers and colleagues comment on the acoustics, it’s something we’re genuinely proud of.”

Acoustic strategy of a newly-opened Porsche Centre

Porsche Center Fredrikstad demonstrates how acoustic design can support both brand experience and workplace wellbeing. Rockfon Mono Acoustic enabled Pilot Architects to realise a clean, cohesive ceiling aesthetic while addressing the acoustic demands of a showroom environment. “It is about precision in all aspects – and I really think this building reflects that,” said architect Ullrich Mende.
