Using a single acoustic solution to handle sound, daylight and fresh air across Pandora's Copenhagen HQ.

A headquarters built around wellbeing

When the Danish jewellery brand Pandora built its new Copenhagen headquarters, employee wellbeing was the guiding principle. Designed by Bystrup Architects and Designers, the two six-storey towers were planned around three things working together: natural daylight, fresh air and acoustic comfort.

"Spaciousness, interior design, and materials are optimised so that sound, air, and light in the building can provide a great working environment for the employees," said Henrik Skouboe, Project Manager at Bystrup Architects and Designers.

The ceiling had to deliver on all three, without cluttering the clean, light-filled interior.

Sound, light and air, with nothing showing

In a large open headquarters, three things tend to compete for the ceiling. Acoustic panels control sound. Exposed ventilation ducts supply air. And every fixture added overhead reduces how evenly daylight spreads through the space.

Pandora wanted all three handled, but none of them visible.

The challenge was finding one solution that could absorb sound, distribute daylight and supply fresh air, while keeping the ceiling clean and uninterrupted.

Rockfon Blanka was installed throughout, chosen for how much it could handle at once. Its matte surface reflects over 87% of light while reducing glare, spreading daylight evenly across the floors and cutting the need for artificial lighting.

The ceiling was also fitted with integrated diffuse ventilation, supplying a constant flow of fresh air through the ceiling surface itself, with no exposed ducts or vents. Combined with its Class A sound absorption, that means one clean, uninterrupted ceiling delivering acoustic comfort, even daylight and fresh air at once.
