Rockfon Blanka’s high light reflection helps achieve an airy office design while ensuring Class A acoustic performance and easy maintenance.
Acoustic ceilings support open plan bank design
The new office exemplifies how design can create light-filled spaces while maintaining comfort for large teams. “When you have a building that is very open and primarily consists of open plan offices there is a natural amount of noise", explains Arkitema Senior Project Architect Michael Green. "People talk with each other – on the phone and informally as they meet, which create noisy disturbances, if you don’t consider acoustics in the design.”
Arkitema aimed to keep the office visually open and modern while avoiding the echoes common in open-plan layouts. They selected Rockfon Blanka acoustic ceiling tiles for their bright white finish and unique tile layout. The ceiling’s subtle lines draw the eye through the space, reinforcing the feeling of openness and allowing natural daylight to enhance the work environment.
Beyond aesthetics, Arkitema required ceiling tiles that integrated with lighting systems and allowed easy access for maintenance. “Durability is key for a large and busy office space,” says Michael Green. “Being able to easily demount and remount the ceiling tiles without having to consider the direction of the panel was important, which made Rockfon Blanka the natural choice.”
Rockfon Blanka’s surface provides excellent light reflection, helping distribute daylight deeper into interior zones and reducing the reliance on artificial lighting. This not only creates a pleasant visual atmosphere but also contributes to energy savings, aligning with design goals in modern office environments like Danske Bank’s new workspace.
